The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that Han Duck-soo, the acting President, declared Ulsan Uljugun, Gyeongbuk Uisunggun, and Gyeongnam Hadonggun as special disaster areas on the 24th. This came just two days after declaring Gyeongnam Sancheonggun as a special disaster area on the 22nd.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety noted that regarding the declared special disaster areas, "As the scale of damage, including massive forest losses and the occurrence of disaster victims, has increased, measures for swift supply and support for victims at the government level are necessary."

Disaster relief funds will be provided to residents in special disaster areas. Additionally, reductions and exemptions for 30 items, including electricity bills, will be implemented.

Acting President Han Duck-soo said, "As the forest fire has not been fully extinguished, ensuring the safety of firefighting personnel and alleviating the inconveniences of those who have lost their homes will be my top priority," adding, "The government will spare no effort in administrative and financial support for recovery and damage control after the forest fire is completely extinguished."
