Elementary school students started a fire while trying to roast marshmallows at a park in Gangnam, Seoul.

According to police and fire authorities on the 24th, around 3:03 p.m. on the 22nd, two elementary school students ignited the grass while trying to roast marshmallows in a park located in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam District.

However, the fire spread to the surrounding grass and reached a nearby construction site. In response, fire authorities dispatched 67 personnel and 17 vehicles, successfully extinguishing the fire within an hour. Some grass and discarded timber were burned, but there were no casualties.

These elementary school students are reported to be all juveniles under the age of 14. The Seongdong Police Station in Seoul plans to investigate the exact circumstances of the fire.
