On Saturday, the 22nd, the weather is expected to be mostly clear across the country, with warm spring-like temperatures during the day. However, significant temperature fluctuations, strong winds in some regions, and dry weather advisories necessitate special attention to health and fire prevention.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of 5 a.m. that morning, the temperatures in major areas were reported as follows: Seoul 6.9 degrees, Incheon 7.7 degrees, Suwon 5.5 degrees, Chuncheon 3.6 degrees, Gangneung 14.8 degrees, Cheongju 6.9 degrees, Daejeon 8.5 degrees, Jeonju 8.6 degrees, Gwangju 7.0 degrees, Jeju 15.8 degrees, Daegu 8.4 degrees, Busan 11.5 degrees, Ulsan 12.8 degrees, and Changwon 8.6 degrees.
The highest daytime temperatures are forecasted to range from 14 degrees to 25 degrees nationwide. In particular, most regions are expected to see daytime temperatures around 15 degrees, with some inland areas possibly exceeding 20 degrees, indicating warm weather. However, the temperature difference between morning and night is around 15 degrees, so attention should be paid to health management during this transitional season. Frost may occur in some areas of the central inland and eastern North Jeolla region from early morning to morning.
Air quality is expected to reach 'bad' levels in the metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, North Jeolla, Gwangju, and Jeju areas. Busan is also expected to experience poor air quality until the morning. There may be fog with visibility of less than 1 km in the metropolitan area and Chungnam west coast until morning, and during the day, there is a possibility of dust fog (mist) particularly in the metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, and Jeolla region.
In the eastern region of Gangwon and the northeastern mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang Province, where strong wind advisories have been issued, gusts of wind exceeding 70 km/h are expected. Other areas are likely to experience strong winds with gust speeds around 55 km/h (up to 70 km/h in the mountainous areas of Jeju). Additionally, the weather is expected to remain very dry in Daegu, Ulsan, southeastern coastal areas of North Gyeongsang, and some inland areas of Gyeongsang.
Sea fog is expected to form densely around the central western sea area. The outer waters of central and southern East Sea are predicted to experience strong winds and high waves until afternoon and night, respectively. Wave heights are forecasted to be 0.5-2.0m in the East Sea and 0.5-1.5m in the West and South Seas, while the inner waters will see wave heights of 1.0-2.5m in the East and South Seas, and 0.5-2.0m in the West Sea.
