Jungkook, a member of the group BTS, had shares in the company stolen due to hacking.
According to the entertainment industry on the 22nd, last January, the hacker unlawfully opened a securities account in Jungkook's name while he was serving in the military and transferred 33,500 shares (about 8.3 billion won) of HYBE to a new account. Of these, 500 shares (about 100 million won) were sold to others.
Two months later, in March of last year, Jungkook filed a civil lawsuit insisting that the company return his shares. Last month, the Seoul Western District Court recognized Jungkook's identity theft and retrieved the shares taken by the individual who took 500 shares.
However, it has been reported that the hacker who stole shares worth 8.3 billion won has not yet been found. Big Hit Music, Jungkook's agency, plans to strengthen personal information security for artists and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
