According to the police on the 21st, the Namyangju Southern Police Station has sent Jeong to prosecutors on fraud charges under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. Jeong is accused of borrowing a total of 698 million won from acquaintances between 2022 and 2023 without repayment.

The victims claim that Jeong borrowed money for her mother's lawyer fees and hospital bills and allegedly provided the tablet PC, which JTBC obtained and reported during the National Assembly manipulation investigation, as collateral.

The tablet PC is currently being kept by the prosecutors, but was returned to Jeong after Choi's side won a lawsuit against the state in 2023, requesting its return, stating that they would conduct their own verification.

An investigation agency official noted, "While we did recognize the claims regarding the collateral, it is not directly related to the content of the case, and therefore, we have not conducted a separate investigation into its authenticity."
