A male fox captured in Jeonju city center in North Jeolla Province last month has become part of the Jeonju Zoo family.
According to the Jeonju Zoo on the 20th, a report was received on the 11th of last month that 'a fox was roaming' in the tennis court at Deokjin Sports Park in Jeonju, leading the animal capture team and animal protection team of Jeonju to capture it.
This fox is a breed of the red fox known as the marble fox, and at the time, it weighed 5.24 kg. It was born last year and is presumed to have been lost or abandoned by someone who was keeping it. The marble fox is not classified as an endangered species, so private adoption is possible.
The city of Jeonju has decided to send the fox to the Jeonju Zoo, determining that adoption by a regular household is inappropriate due to illegal breeding and ownership disputes, high adoption costs, the difficulty of care, and the likelihood of abandonment.
After checking the health status of the fox, the Jeonju Zoo prepared a new home for it and began to present it to the public this week. Kim Jong-dae, the director of Jeonju Zoo, said, 'We welcome this family that has come with the new spring and will care for it with all our effort.'
