An 80-year-old Namsung man was arrested by the police for stealing a necklace at a department store in Sinchon, Seoul.
The Seoul Seodaemun Police Station said on the 19th that an 80-year-old man, referred to as A, was arrested on the spot for theft after being caught by a department store security guard in front of the jewelry store on the second basement floor at around 11:40 a.m. on the 18th.
According to the police, A is suspected of stealing four necklaces worth 500,000 won around 10:30 a.m. on the 18th while an employee was away from the store.
The victim store also experienced a theft incident involving items worth 400,000 won on the 9th and 10th, and police suspect A was involved in those previous incidents as well and are investigating.
