On the 13th, the South Chungcheong Provincial Police Agency held a meeting of the personal information disclosure review committee on the 7th, deciding to disclose Lee's personal information, which includes his name, age, and face after a 5-day grace period. This information will be posted on the South Chungcheong Provincial Police Agency's website until the 14th of next month. The review committee members reached a consensus to disclose the personal information based on the brutality of the crime, the severity of the damage, and the opinions of the victim's family.
According to the law regarding the disclosure of personal information of suspects in specific serious crimes, if a suspect objects to the committee's decision, there must be a 5-day grace period before the disclosure decision can take effect. Lee is accused of encountering a woman in her 40s he did not know at around 9:45 p.m. on the 2nd in Sagok-ri, Seocheon-gun, and killing her with the knife he had in his possession before disposing of her body.
It is reported that Lee had been working as a helper for people with disabilities in the Seocheon area prior to the incident. The police transferred Lee to the prosecution on the 11th.
