Law firm Hwa Woo announced on the 12th that it has recruited Lee Joo-hyung (4th Bar Exam) and Na Sung-yoon (6th Bar Exam) as partner attorneys, who have dealt with the latest financial regulatory issues at the Financial Supervisory Service.

Attorney Lee Joo-hyung has accumulated experience in areas such as digital finance including electronic finance, financial group governance, bank inspection response, and foreign exchange transaction supervision at the Financial Supervisory Service. After graduating from Seoul National University Law School, he worked in the Financial Group Supervision Division and the General Bank Inspection Division of the Financial Supervisory Service, and most recently, in the Fintech Innovation Team of the Digital Finance Innovation Bureau. He has performed licensing tasks for the establishment of financial holding companies and approvals for subsidiary incorporation, as well as supervision and sanctions of financial holding company governance and banks.

He is expected to provide customized legal services related to regulatory consulting for digital finance including electronic finance, financial group governance, and licensing consulting at Hwa Woo Financial Group.

Attorney Na Sung-yoon is an expert who has built his professional capacity in all areas of financial regulation, including supervision and inspection of financial institutions and investigation of financial crimes. After graduating from Korea University Law School, he joined the Financial Supervisory Service. He also has experience working as a special investigator in the capital market at the Financial Supervisory Service and at the southern district prosecutor's office in Seoul's financial and securities crime joint investigation department. He has been responsible for regulatory reviews of major inspection cases while performing supervision and inspection tasks in the banking sector.

Attorney Na plans to conduct consultations on response strategies to financial authorities and the prosecution, based on an understanding of procedures for capital market investigations and financial authorities.

Hwa Woo Financial Group includes Lee Myung-soo, who served as the first head of the legal team at the Financial Supervisory Service, as well as Choi Jong-goo, former chairman of the Financial Services Commission, as a special advisor. With this recruitment, it has strengthened its expertise in areas such as bank inspection response, financial inspection and supervision, digital finance and electronic finance innovation, and special judicial police in capital markets.
