The police will disclose the personal information, including the face and name, of the teacher identified as Myung (in his 40s), who brutally murdered 8-year-old Kim Ha-neul with a weapon on campus on the 10th of last month.
The Daejeon Police Agency held a personal information disclosure review committee on the 11th and decided to publicly release Myung's personal information to the general public. Specific details such as his name, age, and facial photo will be available on the Daejeon Police Agency website from the 12th to the 11th of next month for 30 days.
The commissioners agreed to disclose the personal information after considering the brutality of the crime, the severity of the impact, and the opinions of the victim's family. Myung expressed that he has no objections to this decision.
According to the law regarding the disclosure of personal information of suspects in specific major crimes, there must be a five-day grace period after the committee's decision to disclose information. However, if the suspect indicates their agreement in writing to the disclosure decision, it can be made public immediately without a grace period.
Myung is accused of murdering Kim Ha-neul with a weapon at an elementary school in Daejeon at approximately 5:50 p.m. on the 10th of last month.
