The Korean National Police Agency has been selected as an excellent institution for public data provision and data-based administration for six consecutive years.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety said on the 9th that the Korean National Police Agency was selected as an excellent institution for public data provision for six consecutive years based on evaluations of 679 institutions, including central administrative agencies and local governments. The Korean National Police Agency was also selected as an excellent institution for data-based administration for four consecutive years.
As of last year, the Korean National Police Agency has opened 587 public data sets. Based on this, Jongno District in Seoul developed its own app to provide real-time information using closed-circuit television (CCTV) video information from the Korean National Police Agency's Urban Traffic Information Center.
The Korean National Police Agency has also developed a program called SPAI that automatically analyzes and classifies phishing text messages, significantly reducing police processing time.
Acting Chief of the Korean National Police Agency Lee Ho-young said, "We will continue to expand the opening of public data to help improve the lives of citizens."
