Last year, a Japanese woman who unexpectedly kissed the cheek of Jin (33, real name Kim Seok-jin), a member of the group BTS, was filed by the police for sexual assault.
The Seoul Songpa Police Station announced on the 27th that they had filed charges against a Japanese woman in her 50s, referred to as A, for misconduct in a public place under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act and demanded her attendance.
On June 13 of last year, the day after Kim completed his military service, A attended a 'hug event' with 1,000 fans held at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa District, where she kissed Kim's cheek, causing controversy.
As Kim showed a flustered and embarrassed expression, criticisms poured in saying that A's actions constituted sexual assault.
Through her blog, A expressed that 'her lips touched his neck' and described, 'his skin felt very soft.'
Immediately after the incident, the police received a complaint from internet users through the National Complaints Center and, in cooperation with Japanese Interpol, identified A's Shinwon identity and filed charges in January.
The police also demanded A's attendance, but it is known that she has not responded. Reports indicate that the police are also considering investigating Kim as the victim.
