The Ministry of Employment and Labor reported that an accident occurred on the morning of the 28th around 9:30 a.m. at the construction site of the Dongbuk Line urban railway in Jegidong, Dongdaemun District, Seoul, where a male worker in his 50s died.
According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Mr. A was reportedly killed after being run over by a reversing excavator during H-beam production work related to underground excavation. He was conveyed to be affiliated with a subcontractor of Kumho Engineering & Construction.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor is investigating whether there was a violation of the Serious Accident Punishment Act against Kumho Engineering & Construction in relation to the accident on that day. Additionally, an immediate partial work stoppage order was issued for the site.
