The Ministry of Education noted on the 27th that it is difficult to announce the medical education support plan in February.

Previously, the Ministry of Education had stated several times that it would introduce the medical education support plan by the end of this month in response to the expansion of medical school enrollment and the return of students who took leave from medical school.

This year, there are about 4,500 new medical school students, and if about 3,000 first-year students who took leave last year return, a total of approximately 7,500 students will need to attend classes together. This is more than double the existing number, leading to concerns about the difficulty of receiving quality education.

However, the Ministry of Education announced that it would delay the existing plan with just one day left in February.

In relation to this, the Ministry of Education stated, "We are preparing a support plan centered on universities and the Korean Association of Medical Colleges (KAMC), focusing on tailored education and stable administrative and financial support," while adding, "The announcement has been delayed to facilitate discussions and communication with the medical community and the field of medical education regarding the return of medical students and the normalization of academic affairs."

The Ministry of Education also stated, "We will strive to announce the medical education support plan as soon as possible."
