Chae Ri-na, a former member of the group RULER, revealed why she and former professional baseball player Park Yong-geun only registered their marriage without holding a wedding ceremony.
On the 24th episode of TV Chosun's 'Lovers of Chosun,' Chae Ri-na joined her six years younger husband Park Yong-geun.
Chae Ri-na explained that despite their 10th wedding anniversary, they have not yet had a wedding ceremony. In 2012, Chae Ri-na and Park Yong-geun were involved in the 'Gangnam knife assault incident' while with friends. As a result of this incident, Park Yong-geun was in critical condition, receiving a diagnosis of '99% chance of death' in the emergency room. Fortunately, he survived.
However, as there were fatalities among their group at the time, Chae Ri-na and Park Yong-geun started their married life without holding a wedding ceremony, even after their relationship developed.
Park Yong-geun said, 'I lived at Chae Ri-na's house for several months since we started dating,' adding, 'It may sound strange, but we all lived together with my parents.'
The couple's first meeting also became a topic of discussion. When Chae Ri-na asked, 'Didn't your heart race from the very beginning?' Park Yong-geun replied, 'We met through a friend's introduction, and I was scared,' adding, 'She came wearing a weird leather jacket.'
When the production crew asked, 'Since when did you start liking Chae Ri-na as a woman?' Park Yong-geun replied, 'I don't remember when or how it happened.'
Chae Ri-na revealed her future wedding plans and also expressed her willingness to resume the in vitro fertilization treatment that she had attempted but stopped.
Chae Ri-na's mother said, '(My daughter) calls me even when she takes a half-body bath because she hates being lonely,' adding, 'Will Ri-na not feel lonely after I go to heaven?'
