The water supply in Yongdap-dong, Dongdaemun District and Seongdong District, Seoul, which was expected to be cut off from 5 p.m. on the 25th, has been normalized.
The Seoul Arisu Headquarters announced that the water supply is back to normal in the Yongdap-dong area of Dongdaemun District and Seongdong District by diverting the water flow. The diversion involves using pipes adjacent to the existing ones to supply tap water, a measure taken in preparation for emergencies such as leaks.
However, 15,000 households in the Yongmaso water supply area of Jungnang District, where water flow diversion is difficult, are expected to face water supply interruptions from 9 p.m. on the same day.
The Seoul City government warned that turbid water may occur due to the emergency diversion, urging caution when using it for drinking. The Seoul Arisu Headquarters noted, "We will do our utmost to minimize inconvenience to citizens for prompt recovery."
This water supply cut occurred due to a valve failure during leak repairs on the transmission pipeline at the district's water purification plant earlier that day. The Seoul City government plans to supply eight water trucks and 120,000 bottles of bottled Arisu to the affected areas.
