Singer Psy (real name Park Jae-sang) is receiving an honorary diploma from Yonsei University.
Yonsei University announced that it will award Psy an honorary diploma at the graduation ceremony held on the morning of the 24th at the main auditorium of the Sinchon campus in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
Regarding the background of awarding the honorary diploma, Yonsei University noted, "Psy has been highly regarded for raising the name of Yonsei beyond South Korea and for his exemplary activities in the fields of culture, arts, and social contributions."
Psy was also appointed as a special professor at the Yonsei University College of Arts in 2023.
Debuting in 2001, Psy gained attention in South Korea with hit songs such as "Bird" and "Champion." The release of "Gangnam Style" in 2012 created a global phenomenon through YouTube. Currently, Psy is nurturing junior artists through his agency P Nation.
