The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 24th that 7,673 new employees are planned to be hired this year from 1,007 local public institutions. This is an increase of 225 people (3%) compared to last year's hiring plan (7,448 people).
By institution, local public enterprises (160) plan to hire 3,940 people, which is an increase of 213 people (5.9%) from last year. Local investment and grant institutions (843) are expected to hire 3,773 people, similar to last year's level. By job category, there will be 6,200 general positions and 1,473 public positions.
Major institutions that plan to increase their hiring numbers this year compared to last year include Seoul Transportation Corporation, Gyeonggi Province Medical Center, Seoul Facilities Corporation, Busan Transportation Corporation, and Seogwipo Medical Center. The Seoul Transportation Corporation plans to hire 630 people this year, which is an increase of 286 people compared to the previous year.
However, the actual number of hires by local public institutions this year may be more or less than planned. This is because the government did not include irregular hires in the announced hiring plan. Last year, they had planned to hire 7,448, but the actual hire count was 11,394.
In addition, local public enterprises plan to hire 1,509 young experience interns this year, an increase of 192 from last year. By institution, they include ▲Seoul Transportation Corporation (100) ▲Incheon Transportation Corporation (80) ▲Daegu Transportation Corporation (65) ▲Busan Transportation Corporation (60) ▲Busan Environment Corporation (40).
Details regarding this recruitment can be found in the consolidated public announcement of local public institutions and on the hiring information pages of each institution's website.
Han Soon-ki, head of the Local Government Finance Office at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, "We will continuously monitor and manage hiring performance to ensure that many good jobs can be created in local public institutions, which are a key pillar of regional employment."
