Actor Yoo Ah-in, who was released five months after being arrested for habitual drug use, will be excluded from promotional activities for the upcoming film 'Victory'.
The film's distributor, ByfourM Studios, announced on the 19th that Yoo Ah-in will not participate in various promotional events such as the film premiere, press conference, and interviews.
The trailer released on that day was centered around Lee Byung-hun, Jo Woo-jin, and Ko Chang-seok. Yoo Ah-in is shown only in an edited scene from behind while playing Go against Lee Byung-hun.
Although it's a 'two-top' film featuring Lee Byung-hun and Yoo Ah-in, only Lee Byung-hun is shown on the poster.
'Victory', directed by Kim Hyung-joo, depicts the rivalry and mentor-student relationship between two legends of Korean Go, Cho Hun-hyun (Lee Byung-hun) and Lee Chang-ho (Yoo Ah-in).
Originally scheduled for release by Netflix in 2023, the film's premiere was temporarily delayed due to Yoo Ah-in being investigated for propofol drug allegations. As a result, the theatrical release has been postponed to March 26.
Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to one year in prison in September of last year and was detained after the trial. On the 18th, he was released after his sentence was reduced to one year in prison with two years of probation.
