The court ordered the YouTuber "Taldeoksooyongso" who was accused of posting false videos about BTS members V and Jungkook to compensate 76 million won.
On the 14th, Seoul Western District Court's Civil Division 12 Director General Lee Gwan-hyung ruled partly in favor of the plaintiffs V, Jungkook, and their agency BigHit Music in the damages lawsuit against the YouTube channel Taldeoksooyongso operator, identified as Park.
The court ordered Park to compensate BigHit Music 51 million won, and V and Jungkook 10 million won and 15 million won respectively.
Earlier, V, Jungkook, and BigHit filed a damages lawsuit in March last year, claiming that Park defamed them and obstructed the company's operations by posting false videos.
Park had been producing and posting videos on the YouTube channel Taldeoksooyongso that spread malicious rumors about celebrities like idols. He also faced civil and criminal trials for spreading false information or defaming other celebrities aside from BTS.
However, the YouTube channel he operated is currently deleted.
