According to police and others on the 14th, the Namdaemun Police Station arrested a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. An, on charges of attempted breaking and entering at the Chinese embassy in Myeongdong, Jung-gu, Seoul, around 7:36 p.m. that day.

Mr. An attempted to break in when the embassy door was slightly open and reportedly said, “I will carry out a terror attack at the Chinese embassy.” The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of Mr. An's actions before deciding whether to apply for an arrest warrant.

Mr. An also caused controversy on the 10th when he blocked access to an elevator in the same outfit while the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) discussed a motion to guarantee President Yoon's right to defense.
