Acting Constitutional Court Chief Moon Hyung-bae is facing an investigation by police regarding the sharing of pornography in an internet cafe for alumni from his high school.

According to police on the 13th, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul received a report that pornographic images and writings were shared in an online cafe for the 15th alumni of Dae-A High School in Jinju, Gyeongnam, where Acting Chief Moon studied. Police plan to transfer the case to the Cyber Investigation Team of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency for further investigation.

Earlier, a media outlet reported on the 11th that pornographic images and writings had been posted for several years in the alumni internet cafe of Dae-A High School's 15th alumni, which includes Acting Chief Moon. In response, Lee Hyun-jin, a member of the People Power Party, urged an investigation the previous day, stating, "The constitutional judge turned a blind eye to more than 2,000 illegal pornographic materials being posted and distributed."

Some netizens posted derogatory images and writings about Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, in this cafe. They also committed 'text terrorism' by finding a notice of Acting Chief Moon's mother's funeral and obtaining his phone number to send him abusive messages.

In light of the controversy, the Constitutional Court conveyed Acting Chief Moon's position through a media notice, stating, "The cafe is an alumni cafe, and we hope the police will actively investigate this, as well as conduct a thorough investigation into the hacking of the cafe." Police plan to investigate the allegations of pornography being shared in the cafe and the 'text terrorism' directed at Acting Chief Moon.

Meanwhile, the parent organization 'Student-Parent-Teacher Human Rights Protection Alliance' held a press conference in front of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency at 9:30 a.m. that day, urging a swift investigation into Acting Chief Moon. The group also called for his resignation, claiming he violated laws concerning the protection of children and adolescents.
