A man in his 30s, who threatened bank customers and employees at a bank in Busan with what appeared to be a gun, was caught after a scuffle. The man was holding a toy water gun.
On the 10th, the Busan Gijang Police Station stated that they arrested a man in his 30s, referred to as A, on suspicion of attempted robbery. This incident occurred when he entered a bank in Gijang-gun, Busan, around 10:58 a.m. and attempted to commit robbery.
According to police, A concealed his face with a scarf and hat and disguised a toy water gun wrapped in a plastic bag as a real pistol to threaten bank employees and customers.
A reportedly threatened the bank staff after telling customers to "get on their knees" and demanded that they place 50,000 won bills into a travel bag he had prepared in advance.
The police said, "The customers and bank employees who came to conduct business subdued A after a scuffle," adding that "A was arrested just two minutes after entering the bank."
Meanwhile, police are investigating the motive for the crime.
