The police announced on the 7th that they have arrested 107 individuals involved in the disturbance at the Seoul Western District Court and are currently investigating.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said in a press release that they have detained 66 individuals and are investigating 41 without detention in connection with illegal activities including the invasion of the Western District Court.
A hearing for the four individuals arrested by the Seoul Criminal Investigation Unit and the Mapo Police Station on the 4th and 5th will take place this afternoon at the Western District Court. Among them is a man in his 20s, referred to as Mr. Namsung, who is accused of breaking into the court while wearing a black mask and damaging property during the disturbance.
The police have applied charges of joint entry to a collective building under the Act on Punishment of Violences, including to Mr. Namsung. Additionally, charges of obstruction of special public duty and damage to public property were added for those confirmed to have assaulted police officers and damaged property during the invasion.
The police noted that they will continue the investigation to identify the illegal actors through the analysis of closed-circuit television (CCTV), YouTube videos, and evidence collection materials.
