The national singer Song Dae-kwan, known as one of the 'Four Kings of Trot,' has passed away. He was 78 years old.

On the 7th, Song Dae-kwan's agency, Star Lineup Entertainment, announced that he had passed away that morning.

He had been experiencing health issues and was transported to the emergency room of Seoul National University Hospital the previous day, but he died during treatment. The cause of death was reported to be cardiac arrest.

Song Dae-kwan had been suffering from chronic illnesses and had undergone three surgeries but had reportedly faced difficulties in improving his condition.

Originally from Jeongeup, North Jeolla Province, he debuted in 1967 with 'Kind Uncle.' He gained fame with the hit 'Day of the Rising Sun,' released in 1975.

He later released hit songs such as 'Four Beats,' 'Pop Song,' and 'A Single Ticket,' and was referred to as one of the Four Kings of Trot along with Tae Jin-ah, Hyun Chul, and Seol Woon-do.

The funeral site is expected to be set up at the Seoul National University Hospital funeral home.
