Jeon Han-gil, a prominent instructor in Korean history who defends the state of emergency declared by President Yoon Suk-yeol and opposes impeachment, has noted that he is facing threats to his personal safety.
On the 4th, Jeon appeared on TV Chosun's YouTube show "Kang Punch" and said, "If you go into the community, there are many stories like 'Jeon Han-gil should be killed.'" He added, "I feel like 'if these people make a mistake, they could harm me.'"
He also mentioned, "My wife is trying to leave the house right now," and said, "I have scheduled the rally until March 1st and have set my broadcast grants for February 11th, but beyond that, I told my wife to talk on the YouTube channel 'Flower than Jeon Han-gil.'"
Recently, Jeon has been following a rightward trend, including joining the 'National Defense Counsel for President Yoon' led by Yoon's attorney, Seok Dong-hyun. He stated at the anti-impeachment rally held at Busan Station on the 1st, "The state of emergency was a decree to awaken the people of the Republic of Korea."
Recently, Jeon commented on his current situation, saying, "I wear a smartwatch and have personal security. Would I want this? I can't even go outside, and I don't like it either," adding, "Once the country stabilizes, the president returns, and the collapsed national system stabilizes, I will return quickly." He further stated, "I am sacrificing for my students in their 20s and 30s."
Previously, on the 29th of last month, Jeon visited the Dongjak Police Station in Seoul and requested personal protection, citing a flood of threatening emails. The police provided him with a smartwatch and registered Jeon's phone number in the 112 system to keep a record of his request for personal protection.
On the 3rd, a comment hinting at a bombing threat, stating "We are preparing an improvised explosive device", was posted on Jeon's YouTube channel called 'Flower than Jeon Han-gil.' However, it was a hint directed not at Jeon or the anti-impeachment side, but rather towards supporters of impeachment.
