A man in his 20s involved in the disturbance at the Seoul Western District Court was arrested two weeks after the crime. Supporters of President Yoon Suk-yeol have claimed that the "green jumper man" is a reporter for a certain media outlet, but this has been confirmed to be false.
On the 3rd, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had apprehended individual A, who was on the run after the crime, the previous day and are currently investigating.
Individual A is accused of breaking into the Western District Court and damaging property after President Yoon Suk-yeol was arrested in the early hours of the 19th of last month (charges include joint entry into a building and damage to public property).
In YouTube videos recorded during the crime, an individual presumed to be A is seen wearing a green jumper, breaking windows of the court's duty office, or spraying fire extinguishers at police. Additionally, there are moments captured where he attempts to damage glass doors inside the court with the fire extinguisher or tamper with security devices.
Supporters of President Yoon have raised suspicions that A is the same person as a reporter for a certain media outlet due to similarities in their faces; however, the police stated, "This is completely untrue."
The police will apply for an arrest warrant for A to secure his custody before investigating the specific motive behind the crime and any potential accomplices.
