On Saturday, the 1st, snow or rain is expected in most parts of the country.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the morning low temperature is expected to be between -8 to 6 degrees, and the daytime high is expected to be between 5 to 9 degrees. As a result, the snow and rain from the previous day are likely to freeze, leading to icy roads and patches of ice on surfaces. The Korea Meteorological Administration urged drivers to maintain a safe distance and drive slowly.
The snow or rain that started in the southern region the previous day is expected to gradually expand to most areas except parts of the capital region.
The expected snowfall is around 1 cm in the southern inland of Gyeonggi Province, southern inland of Gangwon Province, and the Chungcheong region; 1 to 5 cm in eastern Jeonbuk and western Gyeongnam; and 1 cm in eastern Jeonnam, western Gyeongbuk, northeastern Gyeongbuk, and mountainous regions.
The expected precipitation is less than 5 mm in southern Gyeonggi Province and southern inland of Gangwon Province; 5 to 10 mm in Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Chungbuk; 5 to 20 mm in Jeonbuk, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk; 5 to 30 mm in Gwangju and Jeonnam; and 20 to 70 mm in Jeju-do.
In particular, it is highly likely that strong winds will blow in Jeju-do from the morning, with gusts exceeding 70 km/h, prompting the issuance of a strong wind warning. There may also be disruptions to air travel, so passengers using air transportation should check flight information in advance. Meanwhile, on that day, fine dust and ultra-fine dust levels are expected to be at a "normal" level across the country.
