The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted on the 31st that winter rain will fall mainly in the southern region this weekend. Jeju is expected to receive up to 70 mm of rain. As raindrops hit the ground, they may freeze quickly, creating black ice, so caution is advised.

The Korean Peninsula is experiencing snow and rain in the metropolitan area and inland Gangwon as warm southern winds meet cold air to form cloud cover. As a low-pressure system approaches, rain is expected to begin on Jeju and the western coast of Jeolla tonight. In Chungcheong, precipitation is expected until early morning on the 1st of next month, while Yeongnam and Jeju are anticipated to see rain until early morning on the 2nd.

Jeju is expected to receive 2 to 70 mm of rain from the 1st to the 2nd of next month. The expected rainfall this weekend is 5 to 30 mm for Gwangju, Jeonnam, Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam; 5 to 20 mm for Jeonbuk; 5 to 10 mm for Chungcheong, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo; and less than 5 mm for the inland southern part of Gyeonggi and the southern inland of Gangwon. Anticipated snowfall is 1 to 5 cm for eastern Jeonbuk, western inland Gyeongnam, and the mountainous areas of Jeju, while the rest of the regions are expected to see 1 cm.

The weather this weekend is expected to be somewhat mild. The morning low temperatures are forecasted to range from minus 8 degrees Celsius to 6 degrees Celsius on the 1st and from minus 6 degrees Celsius to 6 degrees Celsius on the 2nd. The daytime high temperatures are expected to be between 5 degrees Celsius and 9 degrees Celsius on the 1st and between 5 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius on the 2nd.
