On the 30th, Seoul announced it will officially showcase the 'Seoul Data Hub,' a public data service based on natural language, becoming the first local government in the country to do so.
Seoul Data Hub is a chatbot service that applies generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology to data services. Even beginners who do not know how to use data can utilize public data more easily and conveniently.
For example, if you ask questions in everyday language, such as 'Tell me about the parking lot at Hangang Park in Yeouido' or 'I'm curious about the prices of apples at traditional markets,' the AI chatbot provides information in a conversational manner. Associated data descriptions, three-dimensional visualizations, thematic analysis visualizations, and data maps are also provided.
Previously, the city began a pilot service last November. As of the 20th, it recorded a cumulative view count of 67,300. The number of active users was reported as 13,800. Those who sign up as integrated members on the Seoul website can use the service for free. It is available not only on PCs but also on mobile devices.
Kang Ok-hyun, director of the Digital City Department of Seoul, said, 'I hope the Seoul Data Hub allows any citizen of Seoul to freely use data to improve the quality of life and work, and that researchers and policymakers gain data-driven insights to discover innovative ideas.'
