Thursday the 23rd will be relatively warm with a maximum daytime temperature reaching 14 degrees. However, the skies across the country, including the metropolitan area, will be covered with fine dust.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted, "Tomorrow (the 23rd), the morning low temperature will be between -7 and 4 degrees, and the daytime maximum temperature will be between 5 and 14 degrees."
On the 23rd, the maximum daytime temperatures in major areas are expected to be: Seoul 7 degrees, Incheon 5 degrees, Suwon 7 degrees, Chuncheon 7 degrees, Gangneung 8 degrees, Cheongju 8 degrees, Daejeon 9 degrees, Jeonju 10 degrees, Gwangju 12 degrees, Daegu 12 degrees, Busan 13 degrees, and Jeju 13 degrees, as of 5 p.m. on the 22nd.
The fine dust concentration is expected to be 'bad' in Seoul, southern Gyeonggi, western Gangwon, the Chungcheong region, Honam, and Yeongnam, while other regions are expected to be 'normal.' It would be wise to carry a mask. In the morning, the residual fine dust from the previous day and domestically generated fine dust will stagnate in the atmosphere, resulting in high concentrations in most areas. However, starting in the afternoon, the fine dust concentration will decrease in most areas, except for some parts of the central and western regions.
Additionally, from the night of the 22nd to the morning of the 23rd, there will be dense fog with visibility below 200 meters mainly in the southern Gyeonggi area, western inland Gangwon, southern inland Chungcheong, Jeonbuk, and Jeonnam inland.
In particular, roads near inland rivers, lakes, and valleys, as well as areas with snow accumulation, may experience even denser fog than the surroundings. Ice may form on roads due to frozen fog, so drivers should reduce speed to prevent accidents such as collisions, paying attention to traffic safety.
