President Yoon Suk-yeol attended the third impeachment trial hearing at the Constitutional Court on the afternoon of the 21st, after which he received medical treatment at the National Medical Center in Seoul. He then headed to the Seoul Detention Center.
The transport vehicle carrying President Yoon departed from the Constitutional Court in Jae-dong, Jongno District, Seoul, around 4:42 p.m. and moved to the National Medical Center in Samcheong-dong. This facility is located near the Blue House and has historically provided medical services to past presidents.
Yoon Gap-geun, a lawyer for President Yoon, told reporters, "The treatment was recommended by the attending physician a month ago, but it kept being postponed, and we were told that it could not be delayed any longer, so the treatment was received today." He added, "It is difficult to disclose the president's treatment history."
The Ministry of Justice stated, "President Yoon underwent a medical examination by the duty officer at the Seoul Detention Center yesterday (20th) in accordance with relevant laws and procedures, and based on the duty officer's opinion, he was granted permission to visit an external medical facility for treatment by the director." Details of the medical treatment have not been disclosed. President Yoon is currently reported to have no special health issues.
