Director General Cha Eun-kyung of the Seoul Western District Court, who issued an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk-yeol, is receiving police protection.

According to police on the 19th, Director General Cha requested personal protection that morning. The Mapo Police Station in Seoul decided to begin protective measures from the morning of the 20th after holding a personal protection committee meeting.

Around 2:50 a.m. on the 19th, Director General Cha issued the arrest warrant, noting that "the suspect may destroy evidence." This marks the first case in constitutional history of an incumbent president being arrested.

Supporters of President Yoon, gathered near the Western District Court at the time the arrest warrant was issued, broke into the building, causing damage and chaos while shouting, "Judge X, come out." It is reported that he was not present in the court premises at that time.
