A post threatening to kill the judge who dismissed President Yoon Suk Yeol's request for a review of the arrest was posted online, prompting the police to launch an investigation on the 17th.
The Geumcheon Police Station stated that it received a report about a threatening post stating the intent to kill Judge So Joon Seop of the Seoul Central District Court and that it is tracking the authenticity and author of the post under the direction of the Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
Around 11:42 p.m. the previous day, a post stating, 'If So Joon Seop (the judge) is caught on his way to and from work, I will execute him,' was posted in the online community DC Inside's 'People Power Party Minor Gallery.' It is reported that the first complaint was received at the 112 Integrated Situation Room of the Geumcheon Police Station shortly after the post was published.
A police official noted, 'The local police station took initial action, and the preliminary investigation is ongoing.'
