It has been reported that a YouTuber who live-streamed the moment President Yoon Suk-yeol was arrested on charges of being the leader of a rebellion ranked first in global super chats (donations).
According to YouTube data aggregator Playboard on the 17th, the YouTube channel 'Cat News' received over 1,000 super chats on the 14th alone, earning a total of 26,141,889 won. This is the largest amount recorded in super chats worldwide on that day.
As of the 15th, Cat News received more than 500 super chats and generated 9,077,248 won in revenue. This also marks a worldwide ranking of fifth.
Cat News noted on the community board, 'Cat News has achieved first place in global super chats,' and expressed their gratitude with 'Thank you!'
Earlier, Cat News live-streamed for about 12 hours starting from the night of the 14th with a video titled 'Han Nam-dong rebellion leader 24-hour arrest.' The channel has 540,000 subscribers, ranking 398th among Korean channels. The channel gained attention when, during the execution of the first arrest warrant on the 3rd, it aired footage of an unidentified woman walking a dog inside the Han Nam-dong residence in Yongsan District, Seoul. The video showed a woman in a white outer garment taking a dog out for a walk for about eight minutes before returning. Cat News asserted that this woman was Kim Keon-hee.
The title 'Kim Keon-hee walking a dog during the execution of the arrest warrant' was added. After the video became a hot topic, the presidential office reported Cat News for violating the military base and military facilities protection law. In response, the YouTuber claimed, 'I knew they would file a complaint. On that day, President Yoon fled in an armored vehicle, while Mrs. Kim walked the dog at the residence,' and released related footage.
