The Ministry of Personnel Management noted on the 15th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to expand talent in the field of national advanced strategic technologies.

This agreement was made to utilize information on talent in advanced strategic technology fields such as robotics, semiconductors, displays, secondary batteries, and biotechnology on a national scale.

According to the agreement, the Ministry of Personnel Management will register KAIST faculty members in the National Talent Database. The National Talent Database is a national personal information management system that collects and manages personal information. Currently, over 380,000 individuals are registered as experts. Through this, government agencies appoint and designate experts suitable for key positions.

Personnel Management Minister Yeon Won-jung said, “We will continue to actively discover talent in various fields of society to respond effectively to the rapidly changing administrative environment.”

KAIST President Lee Kwang-hyung stated, “With this agreement, I expect that KAIST's excellent faculty will demonstrate their expertise in government agencies and contribute to policy-making for national development.”
