With the prospect that the execution of the second arrest warrant against President Yoon Suk-yeol is entering a countdown, the police held a third operational meeting on the 14th.
The leadership of the National Police Agency's Special Investigations Unit and the criminal mobile teams from the Southern and Northern Gyeonggi and Incheon police were gathered from 10 a.m. that day and held a third meeting related to the execution of the arrest warrant for about two hours.
At this meeting, specific plans to enter the Hanam-dong residence, which has been fortified with barricades and barbed wire, were reportedly discussed. Along with this, methods for suppressing personnel from the Presidential Security Service who attempt to obstruct the execution, searching the residence, and plans for the arrest of President Yoon were also reportedly discussed in detail. Additionally, plans to minimize clashes with the security service were discussed.
The timing for executing the arrest warrant is most likely to be mentioned as early as 5 a.m. on the 15th. However, since it is a large-scale operation involving around 1,000 police officers, there is a significant possibility that changes may occur along with the issuance of operational plans.
On that day, the police and the Corruption Investigation Office held a trilateral meeting with the security service at around 8 a.m. to request cooperation for a safe and peaceful execution of the warrant, but the security service was reported to have shown little difference from its previous position.
