Actor Cha Kang-seok (35), who faced backlash for his statements supporting martial law, has once again shown support for President Yoon Suk-yeol.

On the 8th, Cha Kang-seok shared a photo on his Instagram featuring the phrase “Please protect the country, Congressman.” In the photo, he is seen holding the national flag with National Power proportional representative Kim Min-jeon and looking at the camera. This suggests he attended a rally opposing President Yoon’s impeachment.

Earlier, in December of last year, Cha Kang-seok defended President Yoon’s declaration of martial law on his Instagram, stating, “There are too many spies. I welcome martial law. Please catch all the spies and execute them.”

The post sparked controversy, and Cha Kang-seok revealed that he was notified of his termination from his contract job, expressing regret for his rashness while reinforcing his views on the current situation. Since then, he has continued his political statements and actions. On the 28th of last month, he participated in a rally in Gwanghwamun opposing impeachment and delivered a speech.

At that event, he raised questions, saying, “I feel heavy-hearted. Yesterday (the 27th), Prime Minister Han Duck-soo was accused of dereliction of duty and collusion in rebellion, leading to impeachment. Is exercising veto power and seeking to negotiate with the two parties on matters that dictate the fate of the country tantamount to dereliction of duty?”

He continued, “Rebellion is a major struggle occurring within a country to seize power. They are the ones attempting to create a state of anarchy and seizing power by abusing impeachment according to the socialist revolution's Bible, which is rebellion,” solidifying his voice in support of President Yoon. Additionally, on the 7th, Cha Kang-seok shared a photo including his name on the “far-right list,” expressing gratitude with the phrase “Down with communism!”

Cha Kang-seok has primarily performed on musical and performance stages. He has grants in productions such as “I will make your love come true,” “Heart Signal,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “A Killer’s Story.”

Meanwhile, Kim Min-jeon, who stands next to Cha Kang-seok holding the national flag, is classified as a pro-Yoon figure. On the 2nd, he spoke at a rally for supporters of President Yoon in front of the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul, stating, “Wherever I go, Chinese people are supporting the impeachment.”
