The police special investigation team announced on the 9th that it had sent a request for identification of 26 individuals suspected of obstructing the execution of an arrest warrant against President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 3rd.

The police stated that "they are confirming identities through the analysis of evidence materials" and added that they plan to determine whether to charge individuals based on a comprehensive consideration of the degree of involvement in illegal activities at the time and the possibility of future illegal activities. They also mentioned they would conduct additional identity verification based on the results of the evidence material analysis.

As the joint investigation headquarters, composed of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials and the police, reviews the timing and methods of executing a second arrest warrant against President Yoon, there are interpretations suggesting it is applying preemptive pressure on the Presidential Security Service, which has a high possibility of obstructing the execution of the warrant again.

Park Jong-jun, head of the Presidential Security Service, along with other high-ranking officials accused of obstructing special public duties, have not complied with police summons to date. The police are reportedly considering issuing arrest warrants for them as well.
