A man in his 40s, who called a woman in her 20s living in another room to his own in a study room in Dorim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, killed her and then turned himself in.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 8th that they have detained a man in his 40s, referred to as Mr. A, on suspicion of murder. Mr. A turned himself in, stating that he killed a woman in her 20s around 10 p.m. on the 4th. It is reported that he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crime.
The Seoul Southern District Court issued a detention warrant for Mr. A after conducting an examination of the suspect prior to detention, citing concerns about flight risk.
A police official noted, “We are conducting supplementary investigations to determine the exact motive for Mr. A's crime after his detention, and there have been no confirmed allegations related to sexual crimes.”
