Acting Minister of the Interior and Safety Ko Ki-dong noted on the 8th that a dedicated support organization will be established within this month regarding support for the victims of the Jeju Air disaster and their families.

Acting Minister Ko emphasized during the '13th meeting of the Central Disaster Countermeasure Headquarters for the Jeju Air passenger plane accident' that 'a local office is being operated in Muan to continue communicating and providing support to the bereaved families on site.'

He added, 'The government is continuing to operate a unified support center at Muan Airport,' and stated, 'We will continue to provide practical support, including legal consultations, compensation support, tax reductions, emergency care, and education expense support.'

The government is currently conducting an investigation into the accident aircraft in collaboration with a joint investigation team from the United States. The flight data recorder (FDR) of the damaged aircraft is being sent to the U.S. for investigation of the cause of the accident. Currently, analysis has commenced in conjunction with the National Transportation Safety Board of the United States, including repairs and data extraction.

Acting Minister Ko said, 'While I will do my best to ensure that there is no negligence in supporting the bereaved families, I will also responsibly promote a thorough investigation into the cause and innovation of aviation safety.'
