A group of "free riders" has appeared, taking various relief supplies from the waiting area at Muan International Airport, where the families of victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster are gathered.

On the 8th, the 11th day since the disaster, there are numerous booths distributing free food, hygiene items, and other supplies in the 1st and 2nd floor waiting areas of Muan Airport. Although the number of booths has decreased as the families of the victims are away for funerals, each booth remains to assist the support personnel at the airport and the families who will return in the future.

The organizations operating the booths are providing various supplies unconditionally to ensure the comfort of the families and support personnel.

There have also been instances of abuse, where individuals took supplies. According to Yonhap News, a mourner who visited Muan Airport from the metropolitan area was spotted taking essentials such as instant noodles, beverages, wet wipes, toilet paper, toiletries, health masks, socks, underwear, and towels after visiting the joint memorial altar.

One volunteer noted, "We have not yet accurately grasped the situation, but this is something we were most concerned about while operating the relief supply booths," and said, "Organizations present will gather to discuss measures to prevent supplies from ending up in the wrong hands."
