A fishing boat with 22 people on board ran aground off the coast of Gageodo in Shinan county, South Jeolla province, and three people were transported in cardiac arrest.

According to Mokpo Coast Guard on the 4th, at around 10:30 a.m. that day, a report was received by the coast guard situation room that a 9.7-ton fishing boat with 22 passengers collided with a rock off the coast of Gageodo 3-gu in Heuksan-myeon, Shinan county.

Due to this accident, three people were transported to a hospital in a state of cardiac arrest. The remaining 19 were rescued by the coast guard and nearby civilian ships, and it was determined that none of them were in a life-threatening condition.

It was reported that they jumped into the sea and waited for rescue as the grounded boat showed signs of capsizing.

The coast guard plans to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
