The Seoul city government announced on the 30th that it will provide a maximum of 75 million won per person to the six Seoul citizens who died in the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster. The compensation will include up to 40 million won in damages and 35 million won in disaster relief funds (15 million won for funeral expenses and 20 million won for aid).

According to the city, six Seoul citizens were killed and two others were injured in the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla on the previous day. The city plans to provide the injured with disaster relief funds of up to 10 million won, depending on their disability grade. Dedicated public officials will be appointed to offer psychological counseling to the families of the deceased and the injured.

The city established an emergency response situation room for the Jeju Air passenger plane accident and dispatched seven rescue and escort vehicles along with 15 firefighting rescue personnel to Muan Airport. Additionally, a joint memorial altar for the victims will be set up in front of the main entrance of City Hall from the 31st to Jan. 4 next year. The Seoul city government noted, "We will support the necessary administration, including the regional exchange cooperation fund."
