The bodies of three victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster have been respectively placed in funeral homes in Gwangju and Seoul, their places of origin.
According to Gwangju city and South Jeolla firefighting headquarters on the 30th, the identities of victims A and B were confirmed and, after confirming with the bereaved families, the bodies were placed in the Gwangju Sky Funeral Home and Cheonji Funeral Home, respectively.
In the case of A, the identity confirmation process for the accompanying family is not yet complete, so it is known that the funeral will not be held yet. The body of victim C was also transported to Seoul Samsung Medical Center funeral home that evening. The timing of the victims' funerals is expected to be decided through discussions with the bereaved families.
On the morning of the 29th, Jeju Air flight 7C2216 from Bangkok to Muan attempted a belly landing on the runway at Muan International Airport when it collided with an outer wall and was partially destroyed, engulfed in flames. Out of 181 passengers on board (175 passengers and 6 crew members), 2 crew members were rescued, and 179 were killed.
