The city will reduce the 'Bosingak Bell' event near Bosingak, Jongno-gu, from 11 p.m. on the 31st to 1 a.m. on Jan. 1 next year. The event will proceed calmly, focusing on the bell-ringing while canceling performances.
The Gwanghwamun countdown event will cancel the light show (on the 31st). Only the countdown will be screened silently via video. The 'Seoul Light Gwanghwamun' event, which showcases media art with Gwanghwamun as a backdrop, will display only lighting and mourning messages without sound effects. The 'Seoul Lantern Festival' at Cheonggyecheon will quietly operate by only lighting up structures.
Events such as 'MKSI2024(eSports)', 'Minerva(performance)', and 'Short-form(drama) Awards' are all canceled. However, 'K-Beauty Boost', which assists domestic small and medium-sized enterprises in expanding abroad, will be held on a reduced scale. The Seoul Plaza skating rink will operate without music during the national mourning period. Sunrise events at Inwangsan, Achasan, Dobongsan, and other districts will proceed solemnly by canceling performances.
