The Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism announced on the 30th it set up an incense altar in the main hall of the Jogyesa Temple in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to pray for the peaceful passing of victims from the Jeju Air passenger plane accident that occurred at Muan Airport in South Jeolla Province. The Jogye Order installed a joint memorial tablet for the victims at the main altar, allowing visitors to light incense or pray for them.
Jinwoo, the general secretary of the Jogye Order, plans to visit the joint incense altar set up at the Muan Sports Park in Muan County, South Jeolla Province, at 2 p.m. that day to offer incense. Accompanying will be monks Gyeongwoo from Seonunsa Temple, Mugong from Baegyangsa Temple, Deokmun from Hwaeomsa Temple, Mujah from Songgwangsa Temple, and Beopsang from Daeheungsa Temple.
Jinwoo, the general secretary of the Jogye Order, said the previous day, 'We earnestly pray for the peaceful passing of the victims and extend our deepest condolences to their families.' Jinwoo continued, 'The sorrow is overwhelming with the tragic news of numerous casualties, and we hope for the swift recovery of the rescued survivors.'
