Of the passengers on the aircraft that collided after landing at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province on the 29th, 173 were Korean and 2 were Thai.
According to the National Fire Agency and others, a total of 181 people, including 6 crew members, 173 Korean passengers, and 2 Thai passengers, were confirmed to be on Jeju Air flight 7C2216, which departed from Bangkok Airport in Thailand and landed at Muan Airport that morning.
The fire authorities have so far rescued one passenger and one crew member.
Starting the search from the aircraft's tail, 28 casualties have been confirmed so far, and efforts are underway to identify additional casualties.
At around 9:07 a.m. that day, flight 7C2216 collided with an outer wall while landing on the runway at Muan Airport.
Police and fire authorities believe the accident occurred because the plane's landing gear did not deploy, and they are investigating the exact circumstances.
