A male crew member, Lee (33), one of the two survivors from the Jeju Air passenger plane accident at Muan Airport, Jeollanam-do on the morning of the 29th, reportedly told medical staff, "I woke up to find myself rescued."

At a briefing at 9 p.m. on the 29th, the director of Ewha Seoul Hospital, Joo Woong, where Lee is hospitalized, said, “There is trauma, and it was judged that it would not help recovery, so we did not ask in detail about the situation at the time of the accident,” noting this. When asked if Lee shows symptoms of memory loss, Joo stated, "He is in a state where communication is fully possible," adding, "it is not a stage to specifically mention memory loss."

Director Joo explained that Lee might have possible aftereffects such as total paralysis. Currently, Lee is receiving intensive care, and a Hyupjin with the department of psychiatry is scheduled for psychological treatment.

In the accident, of the total 181 people onboard the aircraft, including 175 passengers and six crew members, only Lee and another crew member, Koo (25), survived. Lee and Koo were rescued from the detached tail section of the aircraft.

Lee was initially transferred to Mokpo Korean Hospital right after the accident and then moved to Ewha Seoul Hospital. Tests diagnosed fractures in the thoracic vertebrae, scapula, and ribs, and Lee is currently in the intensive care unit. Koo received treatment at Mokpo Central Hospital before being transferred to Seoul Asan Hospital.
