According to the Military Manpower Administration on the 26th, if the police investigation confirms issues with Song's service attitude, the administration intends to cancel the release order and require him to serve again for the problematic period, even if he has already been discharged.

An official noted, "The police investigation is more precise, so the Military Manpower Administration will not conduct its own investigation."

Song had been serving as a social service worker at a facility in Mapo-gu, Seoul since March last year and completed his service on the 23rd.

However, Dispatch reported on the 17th that he was suspected of not properly performing his duties.

As the controversy grew, Oh Se-hoon, the mayor of Seoul, stated, "I have ordered an 'urgent full-scale inspection of social service workers' service conditions' targeting the city of Seoul and its affiliated institutions," and added, "Based on the investigation results, I will take strict measures and, if necessary, suggest improvements to the system to ensure a fair military service obligation to the Military Manpower Administration."

The Mapo Police Station stated on the 26th that after receiving a request for investigation from the Military Manpower Administration on the 23rd, they booked Song as a suspect on the same day. The police will review the contents of the Military Manpower Administration's request to determine whether Song violated the Military Service Act.
